About Coachman Insurance

Around since 1979, Coachman has been a leader in providing non-standard auto insurance. As well as offering auto insurance, Coachman also offers home insurance and business insurance in Ontario.

Drivers turn to Coachman for insurance when other insurance companies don’t offer them coverage because they are deemed “high risk”. Coachman helps drivers with an unfortunate driving history get the auto insurance coverage they need while allowing them the opportunity to improve their driving record over time.

SGI Canada acquired Coachman in 2001 and operates in Ontario.

SGI Canada has been in the insurance business even longer than Coachman and was established in 1944. The company operates across multiple provinces and is dedicated to focusing on the needs of their customer, no matter the market. They understand customer needs and expectations change over time and work diligently to set themselves apart by looking beyond customer “service” and more at customer “experience”.

SGI Canada and its subsidiaries include the following:

  • SGI Canada in Saskatchewan
  • SGI Canada Insurance Services Ltd. In Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia
  • Coachman insurance company in Ontario

SGI Canada’s corporate head office is located in Regina and the company employs over 2,000 people and works with a network of approximately 500 independent insurance brokers.
