About RBC Auto Insurance

With a long and rich history in helping Canadians, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) knows a thing or two about customer service. RBC is a well-known company among Canadians for offering financial services across the country, but its insurance branch is also there to cover all your needs, including insurance coverage for auto, home, life and more!

A Canadian institution

The RBC began as the Merchants Bank in Halifax in 1864 before branching out across the country. At the turn of the century, the company officially became the Royal Bank of Canada and went on to become the largest bank in the country. Several decades later it added insurance to its product range and RBC Insurance was created!

This branch of the company serves four million clients globally, and employs 2500 people. The policies are distributed by RBC Insurance Agency Ltd. and underwritten by Aviva General Insurance Company.

Car insurance for all your needs

RBC Car Insurance offers affordable rates that are customized to your needs. Clients have the option to choose their deductible. A higher deductible can lower premiums while a lower deductible can save money at the time of a claim. Customers can get an online quote for all personal vehicles such as a car, motorcycle, motorhome, snowmobile, and ATV through their site, however if you want to compare rates to make sure you're getting the best value, we offer a great quote comparison tool.

These coverage options include:

  • Liability coverage (or civil liability in Quebec).
  • Accident benefits coverage, which will replace lost incomes and medical bills.
  • Uninsured motorist and automobile coverage, which will protect you and your family if you are injured or killed by an uninsured or unidentified driver and will cover damages to your vehicle. You can also add the Family Protection Endorsement Supplement for additional support for your family.
  • Collision and comprehensive coverages are also available. Collision car insurance covers the repairs to your vehicle if you hit another vehicle or object, while comprehensive car insurance covers your vehicle if it is damaged by an event other than a collision, such as fire or theft.
  • All perils and specified perils coverage, which includes both collision and comprehensive, but also the loss of a vehicle.

24 hour emergency service

Day or night, RBC's Claims and Service department is there to help you.

Customers can get in touch the following ways:

  1. Toll-Free (Canada & U.S.): 1-800-769-2526
  2. Collect from anywhere: 905-608-8945
  3. Bell or Rogers Cell Phone: #722

More protection for your assets and your family

  • Family protection endorsement supplement is just one of many RBC Insurance add-on plans to fit your needs.
  • Waiver of depreciation endorsement is coverage for a new vehicle. This coverage will cover a period of 24 months, and the original value of your car would be maintained.
  • Loss of vehicle use endorsement covers the cost of using another mode of transportation while your vehicle is being repaired or replaced.
  • Accident protection endorsement works similar to an accident forgiveness plan, where your good driving record is protected during an at-fault accident.
  • Satellite program acts as your saving grace when things are just not going your way! This includes services such as towing, flat tire service, and fuel delivery. There is a maximum number of four service calls and two trip planning services per policy term.

Other ways to save

Get all your insurance needs covered by RBC and you can save. The Family Friendly Pricing Program offers savings for those who buy coverage for their homes and vehicles, along with life insurance.

Other products RBC offers includes home insurance for homeowners, renters and condo owners insurance as well as travel, life and health insurance.
