Ontario customers with cash and credit constraints have a new mortgage broker to turn to as of Feb. 13.

Headquartered in Hamilton, ON, easyMortgages will focus on helping customers with less than perfect credit to get a suitable mortgage.

As with other licensed mortgage brokers, easyMortgages will negotiate with the major Canadian banks, lenders and mortgage firms to get the best rates for their customers who want to purchase a home.

David Ingram, easyhome's President & CEO, said: "While we have no plans to act as a mortgage lender, the mortgage brokerage business will allow us to further assist the underserved cash and credit constrained customer and leverage our easyfinancial customer base without a significant capital investment."

Expect the new mortgage broker to launch offices in other provinces soon, adds Ingram. The parent company of easyMortgages is easyhome (TSX: EH), which operates 237 leasing stores offering household furnishings, appliances and home electronics.
