Sean Widdess is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. As the VP of Partnerships & Money at Ratesdotca, Sean's mission is to support our partners (insurance brokers, direct writers, mortgage brokers, credit card companies, lenders, banks, and other financial brands) in achieving large-scale growth, thereby enhancing shareholder value in a profitable manner.
He has been recognized as one of the ‘Top 35 under 35’ in the inaugural year of the Canadian Mortgage Professional award. His insights and expertise have led him to speak on panels and at conferences in both the Canadian mortgage and insurance industries. He has also been featured and quoted in mortgage and insurance industry publications. Sean's journey in the financial sector began with his graduation from BCIT with a Financial Management Diploma.
Before joining Ratesdotca, Sean spent 9 years as VP and National Sales Manager at VERICO Financial Group, a leading Canadian national mortgage brokerage. Over the course of his career, Sean has held professional licenses in Life Insurance, Mutual Funds, Mortgage Agent, and Certified Financial Planner, showing his diverse expertise in the field.
Despite his demanding professional life, Sean finds balance in his personal life. He is a dedicated family man, often found spending quality time with his wife and children at their numerous sporting events.
