Though government physical distancing measures to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus are slowly easing, things are far from being back to normal. Recognizing this, and in an effort to further assist their car insurance policyholders, Canadian insurers are extending their respective premium relief programs.

Intact Canada

Intact Canada is following through on its pledge to expand financial relief measures it initially introduced by enhancing its my Drive usage-based car insurance program. Beginning June 11, 2020, Intact’s customers who enrol in the program will receive a 10% discount as well as have the opportunity to save up to 30% on their premiums for driving safely. The insurer also has plans in play to cut its private-passenger vehicle base rate on July 7, 2020, for new customers, and on August 7, 2020, for existing customers who renew their policies. Intact customers should contact their brokers for additional information.
